Run for God Jan 17 pic

As many of you know, our next Run for God series will start on January 17th. For 14 weeks, we will be doing a Bible Study together that parallels endurance and faith. Our goal is to take those who have never run to their first 5K, while learning together how we can relate the great sport of running to our walk with Christ.

Tens of thousands have walked successfully through this inspiring program. Many have found a new lifestyle and taken part in something that just months prior would have seemed impossible. Others have learned to share the message of Jesus Christ through a sport they now love. No matter your fitness background, ALL are welcome!

Many of you have been asking for the outline of the Spring 2017 course. After many months of careful planning and scheduling of guest speakers, we’re excited to share the class schedule with you!

We will meet on Tuesdays (beginning January 17th) from 6:00-8:00 pm. As you can see above, the 2017 challenge begins with a Sign up/Informational Meeting on 1/17 @ 6:00 pm at Owensboro Christian Church. Starting on January 31st, there will be running clinics and group runs as part of our class curriculum.

Beginning runners and walkers are welcome – this Bible Study and Training Program is for everyone! It’s designed for those who have never run, or those runners and walkers that desire a stronger focus on God in their running or walking activities. Working together, participants are not only prepared for a race at the end of the course, but for a closer relationship with a loving God who wants to see us run for Him.

The course will be led by our Heaven by Health Coaches, Stephen Johnson, who went from the couch to 2016 and 2017 Boston Marathon qualifier and 2016 Boston Marathon finisher, and Kim Johnson, Dr. Sears Certified Master Wellness Coach, along with numerous other health & wellness professionals who will be joining us as guest speakers.

The Run for God program cost is $80. The program includes: 12-week training schedule, all course materials, on-site coaching from certified coaches, weekly coached runs, registration for the OPD Run from the Cops 5K and commemorative shirt, weekly Bible study, weekly educational clinics, post-run refreshments, course completion celebration lunch, and a Run for God t-shirt. These shirts will be worn on Race Day!

Our goal is participation for all in the OPD Run from the Cops on Saturday, April 22nd, which is included in the Run for God program cost.
